Frequently Asked Questions

Have a look at some of the most common questions we have received from our customers. If you cannot find the answers you are looking for, please contact us and we will do our best to answer any queries or concerns.

Shipping Policy

Shipping within the continental United States is free with USPS, UPS or FedEx.

​

For pieces in the Original Eve Shop that are made to order, Please allow 3-4 weeks for creation and shipping.

​

For international shipping, please contact eve@originaleve.com for specific requests. Items will be shipped using FedEx International Economy®.

Payment Policy

For orders through the Original Eve online store, credit card payment is safely accepted via Wix Payments, PayPal, and Square.

 

Custom Orders and consultations will be invoiced individually. Payment is accepted via credit card payment using Wix Payments, PayPal, and Square, as well as via wire transfer. A 50% deposit on the final estimated cost of the design is required to begin the design process. There is a 3.5% fee for credit card payment on all custom order invoices.

Return/Exchange Policy

Custom designs and store items that have been altered/customized are not eligible for return or exchange. Items that were made-to-order with unique elements, such as engravings, additional or custom selected gemstones, or in alternative materials, are final sale.

 

Items that have been shipped internationally are not eligible for exchange or return

To be eligible for a return or exchange, non-customized collection items must be in original, salable condition and packaging. Items must be returned within two weeks of delivery for a full refund, less shipping. After two weeks have passed, the item can be exchanged for site credit if returned within 30 days of receipt.

 

The return/exchange policy begins the day the package is delivered.

Can I customize items from the online shop?

Yes! Because every item is made individually, pieces can be customized with inscriptions, variations in material, additional gemstones, and size.

Would you redesign jewelry that I already own?

We work with clients to redesign heirlooms on a case-by-case basis.

 

Tell us what you have and let's discuss what you'd like it to be. We are happy to work with you for a jewelry redesign that reflects your style and the importance of your jewelry heirloom. Heirloom redesigns start at $1500.

We are happy to design a piece around a diamond or gemstone you already own. We will work with you to turn your diamond into something that makes you smile every time you put it on!

Do you do jewelry repair?

We are happy to work with experts to repair the jewelry you have to make sure it lasts a lifetime on a case-by-case basis. Common repairs include:

- Replacing diamonds and gemstones

- Resetting loose stones

- Resizing Rings

- Polishing

- Cleaning

Do you source gemstones?

Yes! You may have a mounting that needs a new stone or perhaps a piece of jewelry that needs a tune up or upgrade... Let us help! We are happy to use our expertise and contacts to find you the perfect diamond or gemstone.

 

Eve is a G.G., which is short for both "Graduate Gemologist" and "Gem Geek"! She is actively involved in the jewelry industry and will happily find you a loose diamond or gemstone that fits your needs.

How do I care for my jewelry?

Jewelry requires specific care depending on the materials, condition, and construction of the piece. Here are a few general tips for care:

​

  • Store your jewelry so pieces do not touch each other. Stones and metal can become abraded if they rub against one another.

​​

  • To quickly clean stones, use a lint-free polishing cloth to safely remove fingerprints and oil.

​​

  • If you notice that your jewelry needs a more in-depth cleaning, use warm soapy water or jewelry cleaner and a soft bristled toothbrush to gently rub the item. Be sure to clean your jewelry over a closed sink drain to prevent any mishaps!

​​

  • Certain gemstones, such as Emeralds, Opals, and Pearls, should not be cleaned using jewelry cleaner, ultrasonic cleaners, or steam cleaners. Please Contact Us if you want to learn more about safe cleaning practices for your specific piece.

​​

  • Check the security of your stones regularly, especially if the piece incurs impact or trauma. (Tip: To check the security of your stones, hold the item to you ear and tap the item gently. If the item rattles like a loose lightbulb, your stones are loose!

​

If you notice your stone is loose or an item is damaged, please take the item off and Contact Us as soon as possible for a fix!

How "Green" are Original Eve's Products?

With inspiration derived from landscapes located around the world, sustainability and care for the environment is taken to heart at Original Eve Designs. 

 

Eve makes every effort to preserve the natural landscapes that inspire the Original Eve Collections by following responsible practices.

 

Original Eve's metal is recycled, diamonds are purchased from responsible sources using post-consumer recycled diamonds and gemstones of ethical and traceable origin wherever possible, and producing items in partnership with other small businesses and family-run operations.

Terms & Conditions

This website is owned and operated by Eve Streicker, DBA Original Eve Designs. These Terms set forth the terms and conditions under which you may use our website and services as offered by us. This website offers visitors fine jewelry and information regarding jewelry, gemstones, and jewelry manufacturing processes. By accessing or using the website of our service, you approve that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

In order to use our website and/or receive our services, you must be at least 18 years of age, or of the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, and possess the legal authority, right and freedom to enter into these Terms as a binding agreement. You are not allowed to use this website and/or receive services if doing so is prohibited in your country or under any law or regulation applicable to you.

When buying an item, you agree that: (i) you are responsible for reading the full item listing before making a commitment to buy it: (ii) you enter into a legally binding contract to purchase an item when you commit to buy an item and you complete the check-out payment process.

The prices we charge for using our services / for our products are listed on the website. We reserve the right to change our prices for products displayed at any time, and to correct pricing errors that may inadvertently occur. Additional information about pricing and sales tax is available on the payments page.

We may, without prior notice, change the services; stop providing the services or any features of the services we offer; or create limits for the services. We may permanently or temporarily terminate or suspend access to the services without notice and liability for any reason, or for no reason.

The Products and Services contemplated or provided by these Terms are provided “AS-IS”.  Parties expressly disclaim all warranties, express or implied, in relation to their Products and Services, including any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose or the timeliness, quality, suitability, availability, completeness or meeting the Customer’s personal expectations, or whether the Products and Services are not susceptible to unauthorized or illegal actions of the third parties. When we receive a valid warranty claim for a product purchased from us, we will either repair the relevant defect or replace the product. If we are unable to repair or replace the product within a reasonable time, we will work with the customer to find a satisfactory resolution. In no event shall DBA Original Eve Designs, any of its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, suppliers or licensors ("Contractor and Affiliates") be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary or consequential damages. The total liability of the Contractor and Affiliates, in any type of lawsuit or action, shall not exceed the amount of payments paid by Customer .

The Service and all materials therein or transferred thereby, including, without limitation, images, text, graphics, logos, patents, trademarks, service marks, copyrights, photographs, audio, videos, designs, and all Intellectual Property Rights related thereto, are the exclusive property of DBA Original Eve Designs. Except as explicitly provided herein, nothing in these Terms shall be deemed to create a license in or under any such Intellectual Property Rights, and you agree not to sell, license, rent, modify, distribute, copy, reproduce, transmit, publicly display, publicly perform, publish, adapt, edit or create derivative works thereof.

We may permanently or temporarily terminate or suspend your access to the service without notice and liability for any reason, including if in our sole determination you violate any provision of these Terms or any applicable law or regulations. You may discontinue use and request to cancel your account and/or any services at any time. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the foregoing, with respect to automatically-renewed subscriptions to paid services, such subscriptions will be discontinued only upon the expiration of the respective period for which you have already made payment.

You agree to indemnify and hold DBA Original Eve Designs harmless from any demands, loss, liability, claims or expenses (including attorneys’ fees), made against them by any third party due to, or arising out of, or in connection with your use of the website or any of the services offered on the website.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Eve Streicker, be liable for any indirect, punitive, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, including without limitation, damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to the use of, or inability to use, the service.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Eve Streicker assumes no liability or responsibility for any (i) errors, mistakes, or inaccuracies of content; (ii) personal injury or property damage, of any nature whatsoever, resulting from your access to or use of our service; and (iii) any unauthorized access to or use of our secure servers and/or any and all personal information stored therein.

You agree to receive from time to time promotional messages and materials from us, by mail, email or any other contact form you may provide us with (including your phone number for calls or text messages). If you don't want to receive such promotional materials or notices – please notify us at any time. 

 

Except for payment obligations, either party shall be excused for any delays due to causes beyond a party’s control, including, without limitation, war, terrorism, epidemic, strike, lockout, riot, communication line and power failures or other stoppage (whether partial or total), any law, decree, regulation or order of any court or governmental body, or any act beyond the party’s control. In the event of any such delay, the applicable time limits (excluding payments) shall be extended for a period of time equal to the time of such delay.

Any legal dispute involving a sum above $5,000 (five thousand U.S. dollars) must be resolved by Arbitration, before a panel of three (3) independent arbitrators, to be conducted in New York, New York county, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Both parties agree to be bound by the decisions and evidentiary rulings and requests of the majority of the arbitrators. If any party refuses to participate in the Arbitration or to follow a decision or request of the arbitrators, it may be found in default and/or sanctioned by the arbitrators, which shall not be challenged in court.

Privacy Policy

We receive, collect and store any information you enter on our website or provide us in any other way. In addition, we collect the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet; login; e-mail address; password; computer and connection information and purchase history. We may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page. We also collect personally identifiable information (including name, email, password, communications); payment details (including credit card information), comments, feedback, product reviews, recommendations, and personal profile.

Our company is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by our company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

We may contact you to notify you regarding your account, to troubleshoot problems with your account, to resolve a dispute, to collect fees or monies owed, to poll your opinions through surveys or questionnaires, to send updates about our company, or as otherwise necessary to contact you to enforce our User Agreement, applicable national laws, and any agreement we may have with you. For these purposes we may contact you via email, telephone, text messages, and postal mail.
