Winner CPAA Pearl Design Competition

The Cultured Pearl Association of America (CPAA) announced the winners in the 12th Annual International Pearl Design Competition, which include Original Eve Designs for the Coin Pearl Amazon Ring in 18k Recycled Yellow Gold.

I am thrilled to be a winner of the 2021 The Cultured Pearl Association of America (CPAA)'s International Pearl Design Contest in the "Orient" Category. This category celebrates pieces that appeal to an emerging pearl jewelry collector—someone who has never before thought of wearing pearls. The ring was selected for its attractive design, innovative use of pearl, and accessible price point.

This pearl ring features a coin-shaped freshwater pearl with a sharp luster and rose overtones. With a U-shaped form that captures light and creates a rainbow effect, this ring is a one-of-a-kind beauty that allows the pearl to seemingly float on the hand.

The setting includes the leaf motif present throughout the Original Eve Amazon Collection. With a sculptural band that curves for comfort and tapers to counterbalance the pearl, every detail, including the leaf-shaped prongs, has been considered.

In the CPAA design competition, fifty-six U.S. submissions were narrowed down to 26 finalists after judges viewed images of all entries. The judges were Jean Francois Bibet, workshop and production director at Cartier, and Patricia Faber, co-owner of Aaron Faber Gallery in Manhattan. Winning entries and the finalists of Faber’s choice will be on display and for sale at the Gallery starting Dec. 9, 2021.
