Santa Maria aquamarine is a highly prized and rare variety of aquamarine known for its deep, intense blue color. Named after the Santa Maria de Itabira mines in Brazil where it was first found, this quality of aquamarine is extremely rare and is no longer being produced by the mines of the region.
