When light falls on moonstone, thin layers of alternating minerals cause the light to billow across the face of the gemstone in the phenomenon called adularescence. In Rainbow Moonstone, this glistening effect is displayed in the spectral colors, revealing a magical, shimmering rainbow in every gem.
This necklace is knotted on silk and finished with an 18k recycled yellow gold clasp.

About The Gemstone:
Kyanite is blue silicate found in metamorphic rock. Kyanite is a stone known for having variable hardness: The hardness when tested along the length of the crystal is a 4.5-5 on the Mohs scale, whereas the hardness across the width of crystal measures a 6.5-7 on the Mohs scale. The mineral was once commonly called "disthene" which means "two strengths".
